Morning School Bus Network Improvements

Morning School Bus Network Improvements Effective Wednesday 26th August 2020

Brisbane Bus Lines will be making several improvements to our morning school services effective from Wednesday 26th August 2020.

These improvements result in major changes to the below school bus services.

If your child/ren currently catch/es one of the School Bus services listed in the table below please select the school they attend from the below attachments to ascertain which School Bus service/s they need to catch and any applicable time or connection changes from Wednesday 26th August 2020 onwards.

Please follow the below steps to help you find your new timetable information:

Step 1;         Check the list of current School Buses affected by this change. If your child currently catches one or more of these buses then proceed to Step 2. If your child’s school bus number is not listed in the table then your school run is not impacted by these upcoming changes.

Step 2;         If your current School Bus number features in the list scroll down the page to the Attachments and select the relevant PDF for their destination, organise by School or to Ferny Grove Station.

Step 3;         Open the PDF from the Attachment list where you will see all the new possible options for travel to your destination.

Step 4;         Each Service should be read from left to right. Identify the service that covers your suburb. Click on the timetable and/or map, which will show you the streets and key timing points through your suburb, including more detailed information on any bus connection points. In some cases, more than one service may travel through a particular suburb. You may need to view more than one timetable in order to identify the best pick up or connection point for you.

Key points to note:

  • Some existing School Bus numbers no longer exist in the new network.

An example is School Bus 70, whose route has been replaced by a combination of other services with different School Bus numbers.

  • With a few minor exceptions, all roads that we currently cover are still covered in the new changes.
  • Some new roads have been added, such as Moonlight Avenue in Highvale.
  • Ferny Grove High School services will run later in order to meet the schools current bell times.
  • Most other High School services will arrive slightly earlier.

Special Note for School Bus 4 passengers from Kobble Creek / Armstrong Creek

As a result of changes made to all services from Dayboro & Samford areas travelling to Ferny Grove, BBL wishes to advise that School Bus 4 from the Kobble Creek & Armstrong Creek areas which connected with a service through to Ferny Grove at the Samsonvale Rural Fire Brigade shed will no longer make this connection.

This is as a result of later operating times of the service from the Samsonvale Rural Fire Brigade shed through to Ferny Grove. Unfortunately School Bus 4 which has been used to provide this connection is contracted elsewhere at the appropriate times. BBL will in the near future be consulting with Queensland Transport to possibly amend further the services in Kobble Creek and Armstrong Creek to better serve residents in those areas.

We apologise for this situation, but remind students from the Kobble Creek & Armstrong Creek areas using School Bus 4 wishing to travel through to Ferny Grove, you are still able to board School Bus 75 at the Samsonvale Rural Fire Brigade shed at the new time.

If you are unsure about the above information please contact our dedicated school team via schools [at] brisbanebuslines.com.au or phone 3354 3633 should you require additional assistance.
