Effective from: Monday 15th April 2024  - Click for details

TRAFFIC ALERT – EATONS CROSSING ROAD - 19-2-24

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions to undertake road widening works on Eatons Crossing Road between Lergessner Road and Bunya Road.

Eatons Crossing Road, between Lergessner Road and Bunya Road will be reduced to a single lane shuttle flow, under 24/7 traffic control.

Lane closures are required to accommodate the works within the road alignment. Works will include earthworks, pavement, sealing and asphalt works.

Works are scheduled to begin 26 February 2024 and will take approximately three months to complete, weather and construction conditions permitting. Works will be delayed if wet weather occurs.

Works will be undertaken, Monday to Friday between 6am to 6pm with occasional weekend works as required. Traffic management will remain in place throughout the day and night.

Motorists can expect delays and increases in travel time when temporary lane closures and traffic management are implemented within the work zone. Traffic controllers, portable traffic control signals, reduced speed limits, temporary lighting, road signage and variable message signs will be in place to advise of the changed traffic conditions and to ensure motorist and roadworker safety.

Please allow extra time for travel during these works.

Contact the Community Liaison team on 1800 314 756 or ssrrsp [at] tmr.qld.gov.au for further information.

During this time the following stopping locations will not be accessible to school buses (please refer to the attached map):

Stops C, D, E, F

Suggested alternate stop options include:

Stop B

  • used in the mornings for School Bus 62 students travelling to Samford and Ferny Grove.
  • used in the afternoons for Samford and Ferny Grove Students, and also Eatons Hill / Albany Creek School students

Samford Soccer Fields

  • used in the mornings / afternoons for Eatons Hill and Albany Creek School students

We are confident that most parents who are already impacted by these roadworks have made alternate plans, but these changes may present new challenges to some.

Bus Pass Grace Period – 2024

At the start of each school year, School Services receives hundreds of bus pass applications. We cannot process all these applications before the start of school, which means there will always be a number of students who wish to travel while waiting for their TransportMe bus pass to arrive.
For this purpose we operate a Grace Period, allowing students who are waiting on their pass to still travel on the bus.

Students to be at the bus stop at least 5 minutes prior to the published time.

Students to be visible and hail the bus as it approaches.

On boarding, explains to the driver they are waiting on their bus pass.

The driver will attempt to find their name in the TransportMe system.
If unsuccessful, the driver will ask for their details, including:

  • Student’s name.

  • School & Year attended.

  • Parent contact number or email address.

This is required so we can pre-register your child in the system while full registration is being processed.
*** Students are never refused travel for not having a bus pass ***

We hope this puts some parent’s minds at ease, and if you are looking for timetable and route information, please visit our School Services section.
